Heres a sample of the book i’m writing. Hope you like it :)

There was eerie feeling in the air; I could feel everyone’s eyes on me, all of them expecting the best out of me, out of all of the competitor’s, I was the one they were all looking at, with the exception of the many that hate me. I know I shouldn’t be nervous, but I’m shaking like a twig.

Sorry maybe I should take it back a few years, before I was considered an elder.

“Hey Drake, are you nervous?” Asked Lilly, she’s been my best friend since I can remember.

I responded, “Me, nervous? No.” I attempted a little confidant smile, even though I was more nervous than ever, and I think she saw it.

“Right.” She said slyly. She smiled back at me and tried to say something, but before she could, a bell rang and everyone rose from their seats.

Everyone was gathered at the Capitol the day before Choosing Day. Which I think is a little ironic because it’s the day that everyone, at the age of 13, is given their duty in the city. The lowest level is cleaning the droppings of the monster in the dungeons. The highest is Capitol officer trainee, but that was already given to some jerk Josh last year. Anyways we’re all here before Choosing day because we have to prove them that we are worthy enough to have duties not dealing with the “duty” of the creatures in the dungeons. We must go through several tests. We have a physical, instinctive, mental, and ability test.

Our first test is the physical test. First they test our aim and strength then we are placed in a closed quarter’s arena and fight with fake swords and arrows for about five minutes. Our opponent’s vary depending on how horrible our aim is, or how weak we are. They usually try to pair the weak ones with other weak ones to make it fairer, and quicker to get them out of the way so the others can show off their fighting potential. The stronger you are a wider verity of fighters you have to fight. The next test is our instinctive test it tests our natural instincts. In this test we are each put into separate areas, which are monitored by the Capitol Officials, and we have random events happen, such as an earthquake, and we use our instincts to complete each task. Then we take our mental test. It just tests our intelligence. Then we have our ability test, it tests our abilities and what we can do.
