Earlier Dave and his friends (Pam, Sarah and Nigel) found themselves in a Dreamscape, apparently inside Dave’s head. Then Voyager turned up, the Star Trek starship, crewed by many of Dave’s fictional science fiction and other heroes. Dave is talking to Captain Kirk…

The conversation was erupted by a bleep. Janeway tapped her com-badge.
Chakotay (over com): “Captain Janeway, long-range scanners have picked up some anomalies approaching us, just two light years away. They are approaching fast. I suggest we beam you back aboard.”
Janeway (to Dave): “Are you five happy to be beamed aboard ‘The Voyager’ with us?”
Dave: “Yes, of course. But I think you’d better leave Mum here, unless she’s going to be in any danger.”
Janeway: “No, we’ll draw these things away from Earth. Take it as done.”
And it was. Presently the main “players” were assembled on the bridge.
Spock: “They are approaching. 1.9758 miles and closing. My analysis shows them to be electrical life-forms.”
Data: “Monsters of the Id, Mister Summers?”
Dave: “Might be. I don’t know.”
Kim: “They are radiating tachyon shock-waves! Prepare for extreme turbulence! Shields are down to forty per cent.”
Sure enough, the ship keeled over, causing chaos all over the bridge. Then it steadied.
Chakotay: “Fire phasers and torpedoes! (Seconds later) Target hit! No effect. Shields are down!”
Spock: “Contact imminent!”
Data: “Dave, it’s up to you! They are your monsters. You have to think pleasant thoughts, now! You must distract yourself!”
Paris: “Pleasant? I’m your man there. Kim, beam Dave and I to my Riser Programme on the holodeck!”
Kim looked surprised, then smiled knowingly. Straight away Dave and Paris found themselves in a sleazy bar, on the famous holiday planet. Their nearest barmaid was Cheryl Cole!
Paris: “Recognise her hey? I studied the 21st Century very, er, well studiously.” He winked. There was a bleep, and he hit his com-badge.
Janeway (over com): “Tom it’s already working. Just keep distracting him.”
And he did.
Crisis over, some hours later, they were all sitting in the Tactical Room. The discussion was what to do next.
Picard: “ I think the only answer is to send Dave, with an away team, back through time to critical moments in his past. (To Doctor Who) And that’s where you come in Sir!”
Doctor: “Now you are talking! You’re with us Dave. Who else…?”
Minutes later the away team were standing in front of a riotous classroom. They were back in Dave’s nightmarish days as a schoolteacher. The whole group stood there, wondering where to start.
Spock stepped forward. He singled out one of the most loutish, out-of-control boys. Spock put him straight into one of his famous death-locks.
Spock (to Dave): “Don’t worry Mister Summers. I have but rendered him unconscious for a few minutes. He will suffer no permanent damage.”
The rest of the class, however, were stunned to silence. Mission accomplished.
Now The Away Team walked into an examination room. A handful of Dave’s old tutors and bosses were waiting for him there.
Female Boss: “Come on Dave. You’ve missed half the exam already.”
Data (to Boss, and flashing an official card): “May I see those papers please? Thank You. May I remind you that Dave is allowed a team of interpreters for this. Mr Spock and myself will assist him.”
It was just as well that Data and Spock did help. That paper was all gobbledygook, until they explained it…
After that exam, Dave found himself back at school, a “class-mate” giving him the verbals…Until Worf turned up.
Incident followed incident. Every one a challenge. Each challenge overcome with the help of The Away Team.
Back in the safety of The Tardis, the group had time to reflect on their successes. But then The Doctor re-appeared.
Doctor: “Dave, I think you will find your next destination very interesting!”
