Well, I was bored and made this. Decided to change the plot somewhat on my next try…
The Dusk and Dawn Trilogy
Book 1:
Shadow of the Fall
Prologue:
Dusk
Volomir fiddled with his knife absently, sitting on the roof of Shadorn Keep. He was an attractive vampire, with a pale face, dark messy hair, and an angular face. His most distinct feature being his piercing blue eyes, which seemed to stare straight into your soul.
It had been an uneventful night so far, the night air disturbed by nothing but the whispering of the shadow, the silence of darkness. He could feel it recoiling around him, warning him of the light, but he didn’t listen. He knew the dawn wasn’t far, but the shadow was unusually restless, nudging his mind, willing him to listen. He knew enough not to give in to it, only the most skilled of his kind, of the vampire, had the will to delve into the darkness and come back the same. Yet still it gnawed at him, the curious warning of the shadows. It was an ally, but they didn’t dare travel to close to it, for if they were to live side by side it would consume them.
He hesitantly reached out to it, only a fraction, only the slightest part of his mind coming into contact with it. The cry of warning hit him like a wave, causing his consciousness to stagger and swerve, almost physically knocking him to the ground. It was time, They were coming. After all these years of peace, these decades where the great forces of the world had slumbered in content, They were coming. But then the warning changed, the darkness writhing in anticipation of the bloodshed to come. They were already here, that much was obvious as a scream split the silence.
And the world exploded around him.
Chapter one:
The fall
Writhing bodies filled the streets of Shadorn, The City of Eternal Night, as the enemy burst from every dark alley, appeared in every sidewalk, bashed down every door, transforming from man to wolf. It had been the perfect plan, the werewolves, the great allies of the vampires, had slowly filtered into the city over the past week, watching and waiting for a sign. An attack from that direction had never been expected, and best of all, never violated the treaty. This element of surprise was crucial to victory. In mere moments the night had changed from peaceful to a war zone.
