Essay on the fall of the communistic wall between East Germany and West Germany.

The “wall” made of mortar and a monstrosity to humanity stood for 3 decades.  The breach finally came through pressure from all sides literally and physically November 9, 1989.

This was the historical end of the “cold war” between the East and the West.

The fall came from the people themselves. It spread through the cities like seeds during the harvest.  One city at a time until thousands encamped the wall.

It was infamously constructed August 13, 1961 and everyone knew what the Soviet bloc intended.  Isolation between the East and the West.  It started with bob wire and ended with concrete.

The Western powers and the Soviet Union would divide this section of Berlin into chunks.

The East and West would be cut off for several decades.  People would be cut off from their loved ones and the rest is history.

In the end with the will of the people of East Berlin and East Germany, East would meet West for the first time and the art and beauty of freedom was set in motion.

It was a happy day in my life when I watched the Berlin wall toppled. We waited a long time for that day.
