Short Story of a Grim FUTURE.
Elections 2012 ( Did Obama Keep His Promises? )
All Communications are Out…. Did someone take out the satelites?

Oxygen is low. My last transmission. Where should I start? How did it go so wrong? I can’t think of anything to say for myself, just that I’m sorry it turned out this way.
Stranded on this shuttle with no fuel is hard to swallow. I’m giddy from lack of oxygen. Even if the radio was operational, NASA can’t help with the shuttle pad bombing. Doomed I guess. Did I already say that? Oh well, I’ll just keep babbling on as long as I can.
It’s Election Day but nobody’s running for president. It’s been four years since the inauguration of Obama. Promises of change have been nothing more than the truth but sadly, all were failed policies. He never did tell us how he was going to change things; he just said it was time for change. Water is contaminated and a bottle of bleach is worth its weight in gold and I’m going to be a popsicle in space.
A black man becoming president seemed to bolster the presence of Afro Americans and many took it upon themselves to make their concerns heard; not in a very diplomatic fashion I might add. They were tired of years of abuse and it was payback time. KKK and white supremacists are having a hay day and the slaughter has to stop. If it were Hillary that won the presidency would we all be at war with our spouses instead. Can anybody ever live together without fighting? What I would do for a cheeseburger, fries, and a can of air right now.
Anyway, cities have been taken over by various revolutionary groups for their own survival. How can you blame them? About a year ago I remember thinking of a day when a loaf of bread would be over twenty dollars. Now it costs you at least a gallon of bleach. Prosperity is but a failed dream to the once fancy fed fat cats of Wall Street. Bail outs were soon exhausted and that sure didn’t help. Corporations are no more. Many people are no more.
The global stock markets have all come to a stand still. The piracy problem has not helped either as the military forces are too tied up to be of assistance to guard the routes. They’re just too busy fighting in the mid east. Food is just not getting through. Ah, food. I don’t even get a last meal of choice.
The chemical attack that killed and crippled so many in California has brought the city to ruin. Proper Mexican border control could have stopped that tragedy.
The EMP that was detonated over the eastern coast by an unknown terrorist group has left that portion of the country and parts of Canada in a blackout status. Most of the oil wells in the Arab states are on fire. The threat of a third nuclear strike from Iran is immanent. The USA doesn’t seem to be retaliating and VP Bidin is down playing the crisis. Transmission links are down. Did someone take out some communication satellites?
Three assassination attempts on the president has taken its toll and has left him unfit for office at this time. I give him credit for trying. The campaign is over and what’s left are a disinterested, disillusioned people that are too busy running for the hills and bunkering down for the expected invasion. There will be no voters this year. Everything is broken. Did I already say that? What’s that smell?
Obama did say there was going to be change. I don’t think this is what he had in mind. I’m woozy. The stale air smells like popcorn. Did I already say that? It’s hard to think in here straight or whatever. This is my final transmission. I think I already said that. It’s getting hard to stay awake.
One last thing. This is my prayer to You God. If Christians are right and the second coming is close, Lord let it be now so that there is an end to this and let the true King reign so that no one will have to vote again. This is my dying wish. Amen.
Space cadet,
Over and out…”
Then came the explosion…
