All these three stories happened years ago,They are true stories that really happened to me. I can still laugh at them today.

Years ago, we lived in New Orleans in an apartment house. One day this man from the health department came to our door. He asked my mother if she knew of this woman that lived down the street. He gave her name and continued to say this woman had about twenty five cats that she allowed to roam the neighborhood and that other neighbors were complaining about these cats getting into their garbage cans and being a problem to everyone.

After a lot of questions and talk about cats. My mother said, I don’t think I know this woman you are speaking about. What did you say her name was again?  The man replied Mrs. CAT. My mom busted out laughing and hoping not to hurt his feelings and when he realized he said Mrs. cat he started laughing too. With his face blood red from embarrassment. He was a good sport to be able to laugh at his mistake.

Another embarrassing moment was when my sister and I had gone to our local technical school to sign up for an adult course. We had gone in my car which was a yellow Ford custom and had parked the car not far from the front door of the school.  We signed up for our class and was walking toward my car . We were so excited and talking and laughing all the way to the car. I got in on the drivers side and begin to put the key in the ignition it wouldn’t  go in . I tried again the same thing happened. I looked around and shouted to my sister  oh my goodness!  This is not my car. You never seen two people move so fast to get out of there. That car was identical to mine. Just over a couple a rows was my car.  We laughed all the way home.

Back in the fifties, when I was fifteen years old. About twelve of us teenagers went down to the old creek to swim. I was the only one who could not swim, not a stroke. still I could enjoy the water. The strapless bathing suits were popular then. Thats, what I was  wearing that day. I got really brave as I edged on out in the water  above my  waist.  I was just standing  there in the water unaware that this guy was right behind me. A real tall guy. His name was Bobby. Without me realizing what was happening, Bobby grabbed me. Dunked me way underneath the water and then brought me up and held me up in the air, way over his shoulders. well, on the way up, The top of my bathing suit filled up with water and came down  to my waist, and there I was, high In the air for all to see, especially  BOBBY. Since I was facing his direction. How embarrassed I was. and angry at this guy for the longest time. But I can look back and laugh at it all now.
