A young girl taken by a rich and powerful man and Kevin helps her escape.
“This is it Sir.” I pulled the limousine next to the curb and put it into park.
“Thanks Kevin, be back to pick me up in an hour.” Mr. De graff stepped out of my car and walked into the courthouse. It was weird working for the most powerful man in the United States. At only 24, I was quite lucky to have my job. I already had a hefty amount in my savings account. The amount that means I could retire and live the rest of my days happy.
Who was I really working for though? Sometimes I wish I had never figured that out. Maybe then, I wouldn’t be writing this right now, making sure that I won’t just disappear without a trace. My story will at least remain.
When I picked Mr. De graff up an hour later a young girl, I found out later that she was 17, was standing next to him.
“Kevin, this is Mirabelle.” Mr. De graff introduced her as if it would be a name that wouldn’t need to be remembered. They were already in the car by this pint, so I nodded into the rearview mirror. Geoffrey got in next to me in the front, not even glancing in my direction. Geoffrey was Mr. De graff’s bodyguard. I hardly ever noticed his presence, he was rather quiet. Once all the doors were shut I drove away, turning onto the De graff’s private drive. I kept glancing into the mirror at Mirabelle; I was trying to figure out what she was doing with Mr. De graff.
I let Mr. De graff and Mirabelle out at the front entrance. Geoffrey stayed in the car with me as I parked it in the garage, like always.
As I shut off the engine Geoffrey turned towards me and whispered, “Don’t get to curious.” This confused me greatly, he seemed to have noticed. “I noticed you looking at Mirabelle.”
I nodded, “Of course you did.”
“Its probably best you forget you even saw her. It’s safer that way, for you and her.” Geoffrey opened his door without saying another word. By the time I pulled my keys out of the ignition he was already gone. The conversation had only heightened my curiosity.
