A story about love lost and found…

And the time came. Though, we still lied to her. I don’t want to jumble her memories unless we get back and let a doctor see for himself what’s wrong. His father and I created a set up that she would go with me to work because of some matters we had a hard time making up.

I was driving the car back into our summerhouse and thoughts were still streaming in my head. I looked at Lisa. She’s still glowing regardless the fact that deep inside, she knows she’ll miss her father.

When we go back, you’ll remember you’re the Kayleigh I’ve always felt was alive, an angel brought to me from heaven…

We’ll be together again, Kayleigh. We’re brought back together again by fate…

                “Tom!”

Lisa shouting in panic surprised me. She was shaking me anxiously; looking straight ahead with dilated scared eyes. I brought back my attention on the road. A huge truck was almost hairsbreadth from the car. From that time on, I knew were vulnerable.

How can life be so unfair, I ask myself. Just when Kayleigh and I were back in each other’s arms, in a twist of fate, our hopes of a happy life together turned suddenly frail.

But, no, this time, I’ll not give up Kayleigh. I will not do the same mistake I’ve done back then. I will not lose you again, Kayleigh, I will not…

As fast as I can, I threw myself before her, holding her in my arms as if sheltering her. Despite the fact that she was feeling afraid, she looked at me surprisingly when I hugged her.

“This time Kayleigh, I will never let you go…”

#And how can I stand here with you

And not be moved by you

Could you tell me how could it be

Any better than this?

It’s another wonderful day. The same song that brought two hearts together for the second time already is playing on the radio of a wrecked car. It had been that way since last night when the accident happened. It housed two unconscious bodies covered with blood.

They remained motionless for quite some time. The girl

was the first one to awaken, moving her sore fingers after opening her eyes little by little. She looked around, trying to remember how she got there and how did she get those bruises.

When she was finally feeling her body ache, she looked at her lap and found a dead guy whose bloody head rests on top of it. In an instant, she felt her heart beat faster, being nervous when she can’t find a reason. What’s weird is that it’s not the chills of having a corpse beside her that made her feel that way.

Rather, it’s a strange feeling that made tears fall from her eyes… crying when she doesn’t know why.

She put her hands on both sides of his bloody temples. She raised it to see who it was, sobbing.

She knew then the reason why…

“Chad?”

#’Coz you’re all I want
