Living in a world where government has found a new power in technology, Jeremy Finde copes with the amazing events that follow the advancement. He realizes what true contradiction is.

I sat and stared in amazement, I was not afraid. What the rulers failed to recognize was that threatening the human race was not the thing to do, we had no fear left, none of the consequences could actually apply as consequences, they would be just a normal part of life. Soon people started shouting, they screamed at the top of their lungs, calling the government provocative atrocious names. The government is no longer in a state of superiority. They are under us. These people all around, have that ability to do anything that they believe is right, no matter if it is or not. This will not only take lives, but it will eventually bring down the whole earth.

The reality set in, I wished now that I could fear what was going to happen. Sophie was panicking; she was curled up in the grass crying. What has our earth come to?

I waited for only a few more minutes, and then I decided to go and find my home. Sophie was still lying there; I asked her if she wanted to hang out at my house until things cleared up. She agreed and followed me. I did not know where to go at first, I soon saw an extremely large building, there were men pointing me inside. Inside I saw that there was a large list on the wall, it had all the names in the whole town on it. I found mine, Jeremy Finde; I was in the 888th apartment. Sophie was in the 67th, I walked to the elevator stepped in and traveled to the 8th floor. I opened the door to my apartment; everything on the way up was made of steel and marble as well as some other metals and glamorous glass. When I walked into my apartment, it was plain. There was a small bed, a small kitchen, living room and bathroom. I was surprised, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to stay here, if I accepted it or if I should demand better.

I decided to stay in my home, I started a meal up, so Sophie and I could eat dinner. We ate, and decided to sit in the living room and watch a movie. There was a drawer under the Television, everything must have been custom made, and all of my preferred entertainment options were contained inside. I place the movie in the tray, and we sat on the living room sofa and let our minds wander. After the movie was done, I peered out the window, the sky was cloudy still, and rain poured. A few minutes later, I heard gunshots, people everywhere were setting things on fire, it was a complete war zone.

The sky opened up again, another computer came down, they started shooting everything, people, buildings, still I felt no fear. People were not afraid to die; they died willingly, just to see what was in store.

Within hours, countries were devastated, wiped off the planet. We had nothing left, nothing to live for, no future, no life. Fear is a needed emotion; imagine that, if only they would have thought of that earlier.
