A story about what will and bravery may accomplish.

Fate and the Trooper

“If the essence of insanity is chaos then who are we to judge in a chaotic world?” That is a question I will never forget. Everything started off wrong but ended up being something different in our eyes. I could tell we were never meant to be friends or anything but for some reason I stuck with him and he to me. Was it a mistake of destiny? I don’t know but what I learned from the boy who calls himself The Trooper is unforgettable.

It was just an ordinary day with the same old routine. “Hey kid give us your cash and I’ll make sure you’re still living by the end of the school day”, said the same ordinary school bully we hear about except this time he was serious about taking my life. The world was trash with nothing certain coming from it. How could I have known these words back then? I was only a grade school nerd. “Please guys don’t hurt me. My mom’s sick and this is money for lunch. It’s my only meal for the day”, I begged on my knees hoping they would show some mercy.

“We don’t give a damn about some whore!” the main bully yelled out backing me up against a brick wall. Some of the other kids in the playground watched but like most of the people in the world they didn’t care. I stood there crying. The head bully pulled out a knife rushing the blade at me then stopping at my neck. “Come on Fate. Either way you lose” the bully told me with a demented grin. I couldn’t speak out of fear. My heart thumped faster as each passing second went by.

“I-I umm…” was all I could manage to blurt out before falling and vomiting all over the bully. “Fate you disgusting pig!! Do you know what you did?! You ruined my shirt!!” the bully yelled from the top of his lungs. “Kick that nobody’s ass Matt!” “Yeah he deserves a good beating if you ask me” I heard his two friends say while I was on the ground with my head in my own puke. Matt the bully crouched down to look me in the eye. “Do you want a good beating? Will that set you straight you pig!” he kept yelling at me.
