Lunch with a Goddess, or maybe not.

Sitting during my lunch break at a Park Bench, absent mindedly drinking coffee from a Styrofoam cup and nibbling on a chicken club sandwich, I became aware of a black shape close by.  As I my focus switched to the black shape from my reverie, I became aware that it was a large black Crow that was spying me enviously as I ate.

As I was deliberating shooing the bird away with my rolled up newspaper, a note of caution entered my thoughts, my mind had recalled an old legend I’d heard in my high school days regarding an ancient Celtic Goddess of War called The Morrigan who had the ability to transform at will into a black Crow.

I tore off a half of my Sandwich and cast it toward the Crow, it promptly snatched up the half sandwich and flew away and I felt quiet pleased that I had either fed a Crow or appeased an ancient deity.
