For Christians the ultimate answer to the question of the origin of the Universe is in God and relationships. The Universe exists because He wants it to.

Physicists may stop short of the philosopher’s criterion of purpose, meaning and knowledge in relationships, logic and ontology and miss a genesology of transcending existence in Spirit. Physicists will pursue a cosmological theory, even within recursive physical dimensional limitations to discovery, in order to determine an original first cause physically as the first of an infinite antecedent series of causes. 

They may believe perhaps that first quantum causality may be abbreviated or theoretically condensed, inferred or modeled with statistical analysis and groups or matrices with reduction to a singular initial simple and logically consistent ground state capable of explaining the configuration of the given present appearance of the physical Universe experienced.
