This article is non-fiction short story that I wrote.

My heart raced as I made my way out of the exit that served as an entrance. Despite my desire to want to slow down, I kept running for at least eight more blocks. At one point I took off my five inch heels and threw them over the bridge. I continued to run until I reached my apartment building. My hands shook as I struggled to hold my purse open and grab my keys. I managed to get through the main entrance and then to the golden elevators. My heart rate had to be at least one hundred and eighty by now. It was’nt from all the running that I had just did either. Everything I saw within the next fifteen minutes changed my life. Nervousness and fear had completely taken over me. As I got on the empty elevator all I could think about was tomorrow and now. Would I live to see it? Did anyone else just happen to see me by mistake? Who was going to come after me? Diiinng! I immediately gasped because I had mistaken the elevator’s signal for the end of my life. The doors opened and I had cantered out of it. I walked down the long white painted hallway before taking a left. When I got there, all I could see was a black shadow that was cast over my front door.
