Highway of travel with love in the air.
The adventure starts in a downtown Chicago Greyhound Terminal where Jeff Williams and Debbie Anderson are going to embark on more than their trip, and more than they know as the temperature was rising in the sultry of summer at 90 degree’s at 8:00 AM. So will the interlude of intrique. You see, the two individuals will be traveling in the same direction, but from different circles. Jeff is from Chicago, and Debbie is from Milkauekee, Wisconsin. The fate of the sound, and the voice of announcement of two tails of two cities coming together for the first time. It seems jeff and Debbie bumped into each other at the Chicago Terminal for a destination of Los Angeles.
They both sat down waiting for the departure to be announced, and in the meantime, they began to get acquainted. The moment had arrived, the thru-coach to Los Angeles was ready for boarding at Gate 12 via Cheyenne, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Los Angeles. Jeff and Debbie handed their baggage to the handler at coach side, and were given their claim tickets. They settled back into their seats and the bus was fully loaded, and ready to disembark from the terminal, and onto the highway of romance.
The Greyhound driver began to announce “Welcome Aboard and where the coach will be stopping including the rest stops. The bus was its way, highway bound. By this time, Jeff and Debbie were talking again, but sitting with each other. Jeff was stating, “he was an Engineer with a computer firm”, and Debbie stated “she was an Executive Assistant for a high profile President/Publisher of a large publication. Jeff was on vacation to visit friends in California, and so was Debbie. Friends in deed, and in need of each other.
It was now night with the headlight of reflection, and lean back and sleep. Since Jeff and Debbie had been talking, there is a certain heat of the night that ran into their heads. They kissed good night until morning. The bus traveled throughout the night, and made a rest stop in Wyoming which Jeff and Debbie were loss into a fairytale of their own, sound to sleep.
By the time they woke up the next morning, they were in Arizona at the downtown Phoenix Terminal with a driver change and rest stop. The new driver announced, “Los Angeles, final destination for this coach.” Two hearts beating with the sound of a moonlit dream. The bus was ready for boarding with the arrival anticipated for Los Angeles at 2:10 PM or perhaps ahead of schedule as the bus was on time, and would probably arrive earlier than scheduled. On the road again, and still in love.
The bus was moving swiftly on the freeway, and the welcome sign of California became a familiar friend. They passed towns in the county of Los Angeles and to the amazement to Jeff, he replied, “There’s Downtown Los Angeles in the distance in the midst of the smog, and you could see the Greyhound symbol on the building being the terminal. The bus was zeroing in on downtown LA, and the the exit was Los Angeles Street, just three blocks to the terminal. The driver announced in his final words, “We will be at the terminal in a few moments, please do not get up until the bus is in the terminal, and makes a full stop. The driver also stated, “You can claim your bags at coach side, and thanks for going Greyhound”. The bus arrived at 1:30 PM ahead of schedule. There was no one meeting the unsuspecting Jeff and Debbie perhaps they could share a taxi. They were both about to descend into separate directions, but as they began to walk away, they stopped and dropped their luggage, and did a about face, and ran towards each in a kiss of passion with the sound of fireworks in the distance. True story has truly been established, but the question that remains, just what happened to Debbie and Jeff. They didn’t see their individual friends as they were in tone to each other. It was so much the case, they became Mr. And Mrs Jeff Williams, and they lived happier ever after, at least as of this writing.
