after dropping of hot date.

Ear to ear grin, no longer a virgin.

And with no common whore, either;

Blond cheerleader from rival high school.

Bobby knows pressure:

has rumbled, faced death twice.

Scored winning touchdown in crucial game,

even passed college entrance exam.

But tonight, the real test.

And he gloats.

Everything according to Hoyle,

and was she ever impressed.

As he turns up the driveway,

ego exploding,

Bobby replays his conquest for the fifth time;

narrates a play-by-play interview with himself.

Imagines tomorrow’s headline of LOCAL BOY DOES GOOD.

Bobby kills the engine,

stares out the windshield to the upstairs bedroom

where mom and dad do it.

And contemplates his conception.
