Suddenly the peacekeepers were astounded to see the shelf coming from the wall. “Stack up!.” There was now a door behind the shelf that opened inward to the next room. The men took their previous positions all now aiming into the door. The leader screamed at the door. “Throw down your weapons! Or we will open fire!” A calm set in the air as the commanding officer awaited any response from within the room they had no account for.
The three peacekeepers that stood to the side of the door awaiting further instruction from their c/o felt this calm more then the others. A calm before the storm most refer to this as. This furious calm entered into their minds and souls as the c/o gave his command, thus opening the door.
A grenade entered the room as ForgedMonk and the others stood motionless. Their rifles to their sides all settled relaxed as the grenade hit the floor at their feet. Smoke filled the room Monk had been faced with another choice. Run through it as it filled the air or stay. This rambled into his mind as the peacekeepers entered the room.
Why didn’t he see this would be a smoke grenade instead of a flash. He knew the first time they held a flash, hence why they stood waiting. Had he of known the intention was of smoke then he too would of ordered to toss smoke. At least then they would of been covered long enough to exit the cellar and then he could of smoked the upstairs and ran out. However the choppers would have been on his tail.
Our would be heroes stood doing nothing taking on the fact that they would soon become prisoners of terrorists. They stood doing nothing as the peacekeepers entered and shoved them all to their knees and lifting their hands to the back of their heads. They were now being arrested and as shame entered Jason and Beth they were satisfied with their choice not to fight and endanger more lives.
Had they of fought they would of lost most of their crew. This would leave them without a plan and more loss then anything when they found themselves outside still fighting. Yes this group of terrorists was now being collected and taken back up the ladder as the commanding peacekeeper called in the apprehension. A word that carried many meanings for everyone involved.
