“What is it baby?” Jessica asked after shaking the notion of some invisible force climbing on her.
“Shhh.” Monk replied as he kissed her head, his full attention still on the television. Yes Monk knew he could listen to it as he spoke but then the others may miss the message.
The screen would show a woman sitting at a desk recording the news of what would soon change the life of all life everywhere. This woman wore a dark navy blue suit with a white frilly blouse underneath the jacket. Her eyes seem to be filled with amazement as she spoke. “Tonight our leader Kane has allowed us to come to what he has called the unveiling of the future. He claims that our energy crisis is a thing of the past. He has prepared a speech for us and will be announcing the schematics of his plans tonight. Tune in here at eleven to witness this historic event live.” As the commercial ended Monk looked to the clock just above Chad’s head behind the bar.
“Eleven? It’s nine now?” Blaike said in disbelief.
“Do you think we are to late?” Leane asked.
“We can’t be man. Can we?” Nate asked.
“There is no way he is already done building it.” Blaike followed.
“I bet its just a ruse to get us to come to him.” Trent added.
“Even if he did finish he couldn’t make it work without these right?” Sandra said as she slid a book to Jess who’s eyes then widened as she seen it coming to her.
“You guys got it?” Jess asked.
“Yup. We were gonna wait till tomorrow to show ya. But since this is happening.” Said Sandra with a smile.
“Baby look they got it. They got the book.” Jess said with a huge smile on her face all David could bring himself to do through his reflected happiness from hers was smile back just as well. Still not exactly sure as to how, Monk knew that they had gotten the book and with it the next jewel.
“Well what the hell man that like drops half the plot of the story right there man.” Nate said as he shot back another shot and the group followed laughing soon after.
