I would like this to become a short series for children. So please keep an eye out for more from Fred.

The sun felt nice on my back. Nonw that spring is around the corner I’m getting out more. Hello, I’m Fred and I’m a frog. During winter, I’m stuck in hiding until it starts to warm up. I’m sitting on my lily pad watching the dragonflies and other animals that are getting out and about. My day is usually like this, just sitting around and eating. However, today I decided to go exploring. What do you think I’ll see?
Well, I’m standing on dry land, and I see a family of ducks wadding to the waters edge. Five cute baby ducks are following their mom. It’s their first day in learning how to swim. Do you remember the day you learned to swim? I do. It took me days to learn before I was any good at it. We’ll leave them to their swim and see what else we see.  As I hop along I see the green grass growing along the water’s edge and hear the birds singing.  As I round the bend I see some turtles heading out of the water. I guess they’re done with swimming and are going to dry off. I’m enjoying my hop around the pond, but I’m going to have to head home for dinner. Maybe next time we’ll have an adventure. Ah, I’ve got a full belly, and now I’m ready to sleep. I’ll see you soon,
