What do you think of friends? The one you rely on or the one who is selfish?

Everyone needs friends. In every stage of your life you will meet new friends. When you were young, you met friends from kindergaden and primary school. When you were a teenager, you met friends from secondary schools and from the social websites. When you were an adult, you would met friends from your working place. As you can see, friends should not be neglected.

I think other than love and health, there is nothing can replace friendship. Friendship can be said it is a treasure in your life. Somebody said they don’t need friends. And I would think they were saying something nonsense. Why are they so important?

Since I had chosen another school when I was in Primary 2, I felt sad and lonely all the time. Nevertheless, I have met 3 good friends. In recess time or before the lessons, they came and chat with me. They would encourage me by saying, “Don’t be afraid!” Sometimes, we would play hide-and-seek in the small and crowded playground. Just a very small thing can show how friends are important to us. When I entered the Secondary School, I have entered a more better one. And all the closest friends, the ones who always chat with me, left. At first, I was a bit afraid, I was worried about can I meet friends in this new school? God bless me, I have another group of friends! We always discuss about the homework, gossips, and our daily life. Friends can be a good medicine to cure lonely and sadness.

Moreover, friends can be the one to help you confront the obstacles! Have you ever lost something in your school? Since everyone has left school, do you know it is so difficult to find a lost camera after school? I’ve tried once when I was in Secondary 2. Though at last we could find it, my friend and I have found the camera until 5 o’clock p.m.  I wouldn’t think I was able to find it out myself unless I were Mr. Incredible.  In an unlucky spring, I have fell sick for more than 5 times. Is it terrible? However, my friends help me pack my homework and give them to me after school! And they teach me every part they have learnt the day after.

Therefore, under no circumstances do we neglect friendship. Nonetheless, I don’t have too much friends. Why? It is because I don’t think everyone of them are a good friend. But how I know?

Good friends should listen to each other and should try to understand what I feel. They won’t hurt each others feelings and would respect each other. Moreover they should be helpful. Very importantly, they should be trustworthy. Last but not least, good friends care about each other. Just a few point can show if he or she is your good friend. For me, those who are unreliable, dishonest, and selfish, I will not be their friend.

There are thousand and million of friends you may meet in the future, but you should know how to select a good friend!
