Scene 1 – opening credits (polaroid camera sequence)

Scenes 1 and 13 are simultaneous in realtime.

Location: Arron’s house (Living room)

Cast: All (Arron, Batesy, Chris, Emma, Sarah, Hayley, John, Jo, Mark, Molly, Richard)

Props: polaroid camera, apron (with ketchup on), headphones, Reservoir Dogs video/dvd, glasses, drink.  plus make use of Arron’s house.

Sound:  all non-digetic music (The Beatles and Supergrass), camera flashes

Narrative: Opening of the film.  We follow Emma and her polaroid camera around the living room of the party house where all the characters – already well and truly into their individual stories – are congregated.  We see flashes as Emma takes a pictures of each character and we see a still photograph of each polaroid picture as she takes them piling up one by one on the kitchen table thus to introducing the names of the characters.

Black and white camera on Emma smiling walking towards the door, camera pans around to go behind her and then zooms as if to go in the camera, POV shot of Emma’s camera – ‘I Feel Fine’ (The Beatles) opening distortion when zooming in camera POV shot – goes into Colour as door opens – ‘Alright’ (Supergrass) kicks in – and we see Chris . . . .

Chris opens to the door smiling wahey hey!!

Camera pans to Batesy with arm round seating Molly. Batesy then stands up to leave the room
