A story about a journey on how a man become a successful businessman.

Today, Jailani is a successful businessman. He manages a big restaurant in Pulau Pinang. But success did not come easily for him. It was through hard work that he achieved success.

Ten years ago, Jailani was a poor man. He used to go around his village on an old bicycle selling fried rice. Jailani did not earn much but he was thrifty. As a result, he managed to save some money every month. After some time, a friend advised him, “Jailani, why don’t you open a food stall? Since you’re a good cook, I’m sure you’ll succeed.”

Jailani thought about his friend’s suggestion carefully. Yes, it seemed like a good idea, so he desided to open a stall with the saving he had. Many customers came to his stall because the food was delicious. Besides, they liked him as he was friendly to everyone. He worked hard from morning till night. Jailani was ambitious; he wanted to become a successful businessman.

After about two years, Jailani wanted to expand his business. He wanted to open a restaurant in Pulau Pinang as he had heard that business there was good. However, he did not be enough, he told himself.

One day, he spoke about his problem to one of his friends. The friend listened attentively to Jailani. Then he said, “I think you should apply for a loan from a bank. Don’t worry. They will help you.” Jailani followed his friends advice, and applied for a loan. He was successful, for the bank lent him $20000. With the money, he opened a restaurant in Pulau Pinang. Lots of customers came to his restaurant and he was very satisfied.

Now he lives comfortably with his wife and two children in a double-storey house. Hard work was the key to his success.
