Children’s story about George, the Violet Dragon and Sara the Kitten Tiger, Tiger Kitten and George’s tonsils. Fantasy land of Win-a-Dee.

“O.K. George,” said the lady dragon, “I will turn it off for you.”  Mommy dragons had the ability to magically turn off the fire of their children, and she did.

Poor little dragon, he was really very ill.

He moaned a little when Doctor Gump of the forest looked down his throat.

“My, My, Miranda, you did a really good job with the home remedies until you could get our little boy here.  And, Crystal, you have a really good friend in Miranda.”

He continued, “let’s have a good look here, George…Oh My!”

The forest Doctor Gump hmmm’d.

“I see that your tonsils are all green and turquoise spotted, George.  And you have a fever. I’m afraid they will have to come out.”

A big purple tear ran down George’s nose.

“Will it hurt” crooked the dragon

“Well, first we will give you special medicine to clear up the infection and then we will take them out. Then for about a week after that you can only have ice pops and ice cream and Jell-O.”

The part about the ice pops and ice cream made George smile.

“Puuurrr,” commented Sara.  “Can I have mine out too?”

This made the old troll laugh.

“No, Sara kitten-tiger, tiger-kitten…yours I’m sure are fine.”

“Crystal, you need to get this medicine for George and next week we will take out the offending tonsils.”

George finished all his medicine and wanted to go out and fly and play in the forest with his friends.  He was really tired to playing tic-tac-toe; connect the dots and rummy with Nana.  She was a wonderful Nana and he loved her…but enough was enough.

Dr. Gump of the Forest called on Monday and said that on Tuesday they would take George’s bad tonsils out.

George was scared.  Sara was very sympathetic and purred her best putt and mewed her finest mew to comfort her friend.

The time came and Crystal flew George and Sara and Miranda and of course Nana to the forest hospital

Miss Nilsa, the kindly witch, who used to be a human, was waiting to take George to his room and let him meet his nurses.  Nilsa was a greeter and helper at the hospital for children and they all were always happy to see her and invited her to all their parties.

All the nurses were nice trolls and Teeny Weenie’s.  Children liked nurses that were their size of smaller.

They put George to bed and shushed his family and friends to the family waiting area that had cold drinks of lemonade and water waiting for them.

 George was now ready.

Dr. Gump of the Forest came in and explained:

“We are going to put you to sleep for a little nap and when you wake up your tonsils will be gone, you won’t feel a thing.  Of course, your throat may be sore, but that is why we will give you an ice pop to suck on and later some ice cream.”

The next thing George knew, he was waking up in another room with little troll nurses and little Teeny-Weenie nurses taking his temperature and his blood pressure.  He closed his dragon eyes and went back to sleep.

A little later Crystal came in to check on her baby and he opened his eyes and smiled.

“George, the doctor says you can go home in the morning.  He doesn’t want you to talk, so I will see you then after you rest some more and take you home in the Princess’ carriage”

George nodded and….went fast asleep again.

The morning came and George felt pretty good except for a sore throat, but not as sore as it had been before the green and turquoise spotted tonsils were taken out.

True to her word, Crystal came in the carriage to take George home, and Sara came too.

Dr. Gump of the Forest had given George a medal for being a brave patient.
