Short story-Based on some facts of a true demon ghost attack in Connecticut.
It was a long, dragged out day at the office. The staff as usual pushy, miserable, and ugly, in that small manufacturing company near town. Creepy job. Quitting that day. She looked around the office that was dumpy, and not worthy of her skills, attitude, beauty.
“I’m outta here! See ya in your dreams.” She said with a smile to the boss as she received her final paycheck. Her long, wavy brown hair danced over her slim shoulders. A sleeveless, pink cotton blouse, tucked perfectly into her hip hugging, straight legged jeans. Her favorite pink leather sandal heels clicked lightly as she walked away on the old linoleum hallway.
Hurrying out, passing the other employees who heard her and watched. Their eyes and mouth wide open. Laughing, as she took one last glance at them, she was then out of site.
Once outside she unlocked her car door. The old black Cadillac with the wing tips welcomed her. With a quick turn of the key-the car started right up, radio on to the hits of the 80’s, and reversed smoothly into the traffic lane, forward and homeward bound. She pulled her blouse out and unbuttoned a couple of the buttons on the bottom, rolling it up and tied it in the front as she drove. Then, unbuttoned a couple of the buttons down from the top.
Happily, she drove and sang along with the tunes while carefully reaching into her hand bag to maneuver a fat, juicy, joint out of it. Popped in the lighter–window’s rolled down, put it in her lips and she sparked it up. Took a slow drawn out hit. Held it in…At the stop light she exhaled, then noticed the pick up truck on her left. There were two guys in it who looked down at her and smiled. She smiled back. “Green light” She waved goodbye with her joint in her hand.
Thinking…Just another couple of blocks and we’re home. Wanna Ice Cold Beer!
“Okay!” she said to her car. ”We’re home.” They pulled in the long, curving pebble driveway of the Victorian style three story house and drove all the way into the back.
She went through the back door into the kitchen. It was big. High ceilings. Big tall windows. Fancy textured, designed wall paper in light tan and blue colors. The curtains were closed.
