Short story-Based on some facts of a true demon ghost attack in Connecticut.
She dropped her bag on the table and headed straight for the fridge. ”Oh, yeah!” she said. She took that cold bottle of beer, popped the lid off on the opener by the sink, and guzzled. She looked into the mirror over the sink and smiled at herself.
No one was home. Her parents, two younger brothers, and younger sister were gone for the weekend. So, once up in her room, with her beer, she flicked on the wall lamp, closed the door behind her, and glanced at the hard cover book laying on her night stand, a mystery she wanted to finish reading. She put on some quiet, relaxing instrumental music-a cassette in her stereo boom box on the desk. She liked Mozart best. Fluffed up the feather pillows on her queen size bed, kicked off her sandals, and lay back, sitting up somewhat, to finish that book. The curtains were closed and it was nice and cozy.
A couple of hours passed by and she fell asleep with the book on her chest.
The cassette had finished and all was quiet. She lay fast asleep. Suddenly. Her bed shook. She lay still. The light on the wall flickered. This didn’t wake her. Then, with one big thump from her bed being slightly lifted at the end and dropped she awoke, startled. Turning her head slightly from side to side and taking in with her eyes slowly the whole room-the light again flickered. As she sat up and moved the book off of her onto the bed the light went off completely. She was a bit frightened, but began to edge off the bed to check it when suddenly a loud manly voice roared, “You Are Mine!”, and a bright red beam of light about the size of a new #2 pencil eraser headed at her from the darkness. She leaned back and it touched her in the middle of her chest, just under her collar bone with a burning sting. She saw sparks come from it touching her.
As fast as the mystical approach towards her began, it ended. The light went back on. It was quiet. She felt fine but was not sure what happened. Hesitating for a few seconds, she sat with her feet over the edge of the bed, dangling. Once she was sure the light wasn’t going to go off again she cautiously headed to the mirror on her door and looked at her chest. There, she saw a red burn mark. Almost as if someone took a lit cigarette and poked her with it. She just stood there for a few moments in awe, but also, found herself wanting to explore this mysterious being that approached her with such powerful supernatural strength.
Years went by but she never did meet with this supernatural force in the same manner again. She believed that there was a ferocious presence in many instances and some for hours at a time, following her, near her, but, never had it approach her with a physical interest like that again.
