I belong to a family of six and love my family very dearly.   My family consists of my mother, who is in her sixties, two brothers, one four year old son who I love dearly, and my handsome boyfriend.  

To start with I have always wanted to kick my career in the rump and making something of myself.  Listening to President Obama about the economy and now is the time to go back to school.   I talked to my mother, who thought it was a good idea.     She quit her job to take care of my four year old son.

Thinking that Public Aid would help us in someway, she went out to tell them that she had quit her job to stay at home, and we actually thought we would get more food stamps.   Well, we were shocked when the next month rolled around and they had CUT our food stamps.

You see I work three days at a hospital twelve  hours a day.   A job that I like and I thought before time had passed me by I would go back to school to improve myself.   It was like someone or something did not want me to go back to school.

First, Public Aid tells me I make too much money and cuts my food stamps for a family of six to an amount that was enough to pay for food for one person,  In fact, I know a person, who is working at the same job I am and she has one child.   She makes the same amount in food stamps and actually she gets help with cash assistance.  I would like to know what I am doing wrong?

Now, my two brothers have come home to say their jobs were getting cut back and they would be losing some hours.   I sit there and wondered if the time for me to throw in the towel is now or what?

We went back out to Public Aid and told our case worker that my two brothers would be losing seven hours between them.   She ran our fingers through the computer and told me that for a family of six with one child at the age of four, with my wages for support gets no cash assistance.    Would you believe that she raised our food stamps to the amount of two hundred dollars.

Will I go back to school?  Will I listern to President Obama again?   I can honestly answer both question with a big fat NO!    I have to work as much as I can-to support my family where I think the government has let us down.   If President Obama was in front of me and he told me to go back to school, that the government would help us- I would look at him and start to laugh!!
