I look at him straight in those beautiful eyes and replied “sorry sir do I know you?” He laughs and say to me “silly Mary you haven’t changed a thing now your acting like you don’t know me. How you been hows your life?” I ask him” hows yours?” He breaks my heart as he tells me”my life is awesome me and Brenda went to college to do our career and then we got married we had a huge wedding sorry I didn’t invite you I know you and Brenda were best friends back then but after our wedding we bought this huge beautiful house that now we have four kids running all around it including our dog ha.” I still look at him straight up at his brown eyes and I try my best to not look down. I tell him “what did you say your name was again?” He responds “Ricky, Ricardo.” I tell him”sorry Ricardo your either confusing me or I don’t remember you.” He looks at me and with a small laugh he says”Mary I know I’m not confusing you.” I smile and say” It was nice meeting you Ricardo and I love your story I bet those were plans you had before and they seem like they came true. Now if you excuse me I have to go I wish you and your family the best and goodbye.” I turn my back to him and walk as fast as I can to my car when the tears that I holded inside me start to run down my cheek. Hoping the last word I told him, goodbye will last forever.
