Jenny went up into the attic and found a hat. She loved it so much that she begged her granny to lent it to her when she was going with Peter to his brother’s wedding. Jenny looked a picture. Jenny and Peter were so busy with their exams. When the exams were finished Peter took Jenny to a restaurant and proposed. They got married and had children.
Years later Jenny’s and Peter’s granddaughter found the hat in their attic.
“Jenny, from now one I’ll be busy. Don’t take it amiss if I don’t come over now and then to say hello,” said Peter.
“Peter, I told you I understand. I am rushing from one lecture to another. You stop worrying and concentrate on your exams. Once they are finished we can go out to celebrate if you like. Alright?”
“That would be great and I am really looking forward to that.” He smiled at her and said, “right, I better go and thank you again for your friendship.”
Before Jenny could reply, Peter was gone. She found him a bit strange but maybe it was the exam getting to him.
“Yippee, the examinations were finished and everybody started to relax and breath normal again. True to his promise Peter came over and they went to a nice restaurant for a lovely meal. They spent the whole evening catching up with all the news from his family, friends and Jenny’s Grandparents.
The restaurant was about 300 years old and had still the original beamed ceiling and a big, open fireplace. It had a very pleasant atmosphere. From their table they could overlook the river and watched the boats gliding by. With a glass of wine in front of them it was such a perfect way to celebrate the finish of the exams.
“Jenny, I can’t get it out of my head the way you looked at my brother’s wedding. I had a job to concentrate on my exams, thank you very much.” He grinned . “My family rented a house in Cyprus and we are all going over there for three weeks. If I don’t go they’ll be upset. When I come back in three weeks time I’ll come to see you. This was a lovely evening.”
Jenny went with her Grandparent to Dorset and had a lovely time. They went for walks every day and had lunch wherever they were. Dinner they had in the nearby pub/restaurant. When they came back Jenny looked for a job.
“Hello, Jenny.” There stood Peter, looking more handsome after the rest and with the suntan. “May I come in or are you busy?”
“Hello, Peter, yes, come in. It’s lovely to see you.”
“Jenny, I have something to say to you.”
“You sound serious. Is something wrong?”
“I was thinking about it for a long time. Ever since I saw you at the wedding with the dress and hat I realized what a beautiful and lovely person you are. Jenny, I love you. I hope you feel the same about me?”
“Yes, Peter, I do.”
They were married and had children. The years flew by and the children grew up. They got married and had children. One day, Peter and Jenny, were asking themselves where have all those years had gone?
“Amy, where are you?”
“I am in the attic.”
“Amy, please come down, I don’t want you to go through our things, please come down now.”
“Oh, Nana, you’ll never guess what I found. Oh, it is such a beautiful straw hat. May I borrow it and wear to my college garden party?”
