This is a couple chapters of a book that I started to write.
Grimnak
The Path of a Warrior
Chapter one
In the land of Asalitt, a great war has been going on for five thousand years over which country should control the mountains fabled to house caves full of precious metals. The two main countries in this war are Scorptinos and The Gudaman Union. The Scorptinos were nicknamed the Scorps for short. The Gudaman Union was named the Desolators.
The Scorps were made of men and elves. The elves were lighter, keener of sight, and more agile than the men, so they became the scouts and archers of the Scorps army. The men were more sturdy and skilled with melee weapons. Some of the elves were also blacksmiths while the men were miners.
The Scorps believe in Guda the Destroyer. They say that he destroyed an entire army with his sword by just stabbing the ground. According to legend his sword will come to the one who is worthy of using it.
The Desolators were made of dwarves and hobbits. The dwarves were the first and only fighters of the Gudaman Union. The Hobbits were the farmers and doctors of the Desolators. The dwarves were also the best miners and blacksmiths in the land.
The Desolaters believe they are the servants of the dragons. They have a den within their territory that they believe a dragon lives and breeds within. The Desolators put their live sacrifices within the den, mostly Prisoners of War (POWs) and they never return, only their charred bones.
“Dragons huh? Why dragons?” I said.
“ Yes, dragons, the Desolators still believe they were once bred from dragons, Grimnak. That’s why they still serve the dragons that once lived.” Said Madu Gulliny.
Madu Gulliny is the president of Scorptinos and an elf with incredible skill with a bow.
“ And they still feed our warriors to their dragon, or so they think?” I asked as I put the book back on the shelf.
