Halloween is not complete without those Halloween stories that make the night more chilling. I also have one to share. This story happened in Baguio City, in a house where I was one of the caretakers while I was studying in college.

It was another chilly night and I was busy reading my accounting book with a pen in my hand struggling to understand every figure scribbled on it so that I’ll be able to answer for tomorrow’s examination; suddenly the phone rang. Hesitantly, I dragged my feet to answer it and didn’t wait for another ring since Carol (my only companion in that big house) was already past asleep inside our bedroom. “Hello”, I said but no one answered on the other line. “Hello”, I repeated but still no one has answered me. Annoyed, I went back to the sofa and continued reading. It was twelve midnight, I decided to rest but too lazy to go to the room so I laid down my body on the sofa. Moments later, I heard the howling of dogs. The sounds were getting stronger and nearer started from the cemetery which is on top of the village down to us. It seemed like the dogs were answering the howls of other dogs. What had made me shiver was when I heard Hershey (our dog) howled the last right to the door. The dog sounded afraid. I just shook the idea as I was trying to sleep. I was surprised to see a silhouette of a naked woman approaching me. I looked at it intently trying to figure out if it was just a dream or real. The woman was sexy with hair leveled to her shoulder. I still ignored it trying to put it as a fruit of my imagination and closed my eyes. But then, I felt some weight on my tummy. I opened my eyes and saw the silhouette sitting on my stomach. I resisted and turned to my right but wherever I turned my body she would still sit on me. I finally got the courage to shout at her saying it wasn’t funny and that I really wanted to sleep. She seemed to understand that she went away but as soon as she glided through the door she laughed out loud mischievously. A sound I will never forget. I told Carol what had happened the next morning and she was really scared. She asked me why didn’t I wake her up after the incident but I answered, “What for when I knew I would scare the hell out of you and that won’t do any good.” Two months had passed and we no longer talked about it because Carol said it hardly make her sleep every time she remember it.
