There were heads all around…

There were heads all around, but I never saw them moving.  Dead eyes laughing at me, I could feel the hair on my head standing straight up, as I backed away slowly into a pair of arms with no body attached.  I start to scream as those arms wrap around me, I can’t move, my feet must have run off without me.  Just as I am about to faint, I see a dancing torso, dancing my way.  If there was ever a time I needed to pray, it was now, but I didn’t have time, I was too busy talking to myself, asking the God’s why me, and I could swear I heard them answering, why not you.  I knew I had to get a hold of myself, if I was going to make it out of Halloween town alive.  I dragged myself across the floor, not knowing I was about to see a foot running my way, I had to crawl, hop, skip and jump my sorry rump out of the way.

I barely had time to recover, when from the corner of my eye, I see a leg without a foot floating in mid air, and may I say, I am not ashamed to admit, there is not a dry place left on my pants.  In the meantime, I was able to make a run for it, running into the night.  I thought I had made a clean getaway, when up ahead I see three ghost coming my way, I look behind me, there’s a leg and a foot chasing after me.  There’s only one thing for me to do now, and that is run to my left, I see two witches on brooms flying my way, I turn to run to the right, and there’s five pumpkin heads charging after me.  I had to think fast, I pulled out my cell phone, started playing my “Thriller” ring tone, this stopped them in their tracks, as they started dancing to the beat of “Thriller”, giving me time to make my way back to a civilized world.  Oh, wait now, there’s three big eyes looking at me.

Why the line set up is changed while posting the poems? I have got one the same. The essence of the poem then changed. Isn’t it?

The “Thriller” twist made me laugh, Shirley. Real cute. Too bad there’s three big eyes looking at you. Eyeballs don’t like to dance I guess. lol. Enjoyed your little Halloween story.
