When we do something wrong, it often leads to other wrong things and more people get hurt. Anytime we do something wrong we should be truly sorry and try to undo what we have done wrong.

Again, they took turns, but after a few moments, Freddy Frog hopped by.

“Gung! Hi guys. Looks like you are having fun,” said Freddy.

“We are,” said Jake.

“You want to play too?” asked Joe. “We can use some help getting this bell on the block.”

“Gung! No, I think I will pass. But, where did you get that bell?” asked Freddy.

“Uh, we found it,” said Joe.

“Gung! Where?” asked Freddy.

Jake answered, “By a wood…”

“…pecker,” interrupted Joe.

“By a woodpecker?! Gung! Hmmmmm. I think know where this bell came from,” said Freddy.

“You do?” asked both Jake and Joe.

“Gung! Yes. I think it was taken from the house of someone who is crying,” said Freddy.

Jake asked, “Snake Clara is crying?” Joe immediately whispered to Jake, “Shut up!”

“Gung! Yes, snake Clara, and she has been crying a lot. She misses her pretty golden bell,” said Freddy.

“I didn’t mean to make Clara cry. I just wanted to have some fun,” said Jake.

“Gung! And, what about the Keeper of the Pond? I think he is very sad about this,” said Freddy.

“He knows?” asked Jake.

“He knows everything,” mumbled Joe.

“Gung! He is also sad when we lie,” said Freddy.

“I kind of feel like I lied when I did not speak up and tell the truth when we talked to Clara today. Joe! We have to bring this bell back to Clara, now,” said Jake.

“Now? I am too tired,” said Joe.

“Gung! You weren’t too tired to play with the bell,” said Freddy.

“Awww, and my back hurts from trying to get it down the other day,” said Joe.

“Mine does too, after you crawled on top of it to get the bell down. But we just have to bring it back, and the sooner, the better,” said Jake.

“But my back hurts, and I’m tired,” said Joe.

“Well, let’s take this block along so we can both crawl on top and put the bell back,” said Jake.

“Are you crazy?” asked Joe. “Dat ding is heavy. It will take us all day, probably two days, to do all of this.”

“I’ll help,” said Donkey Don, who seemingly came out of nowhere.

“You will?” asked both snakes.

“Sure. I like to help. I’ll push the round block over to Clara’s,” he said.

“Wow! Gung! I’m going to hop ahead and tell Clara! Boy, will she be surprised!” said Freddy, and off he hopped.

Jake and Joe dragged the bell along the ground as Don used his nose to roll the round block.

Getting the bell there was hard work, but it was worth it because Jake and Joe felt much better now.

They finally got to Clara’s house. Don rolled the round block to just in front of Clara’s woodpile entrance.

Joe and Jake pulled the bell on to the block. They then crawled on the block to lift up the bell and hang it where it belonged.

And as they did so, Don, Clara and Freddy shouted a loud “Yay!” which rang out through Ponderings Pond. The right thing was done.
