This is all about harrowing calamities that destroyed some cities across the world.
From the time of Noah up to the present, there are calamities that destroyed many people as well as their belongings, including animals and other living things. Knowing the horrowing experiences of every victims, we cannot turn our backs on their needs. We are always remined of the possible calamities that would happen, but due to valid reasons, we tend to ignore it. For some, they are urged to relocate but they would reply that they don’t have any place to go. And that is reality. Others choose to live near river banks and other risky areas because it is the only place that they could afford to maintain.
The most devastating calamities that happened are caused by earthquakes, typhoons, and tsunamis wherein the vicitms would reach hundreds and even thousands. For an earthquake, it is difficult for people working inside in a building to be take safety. For tidal waves or tsunami, people living in the seashore are mostly affected. The extent of the effects of typhoons is very large for it could last for many days. Compared to an earthquake which happens only for a few minutes, a typhoon could even last for weeks. This is what happened in various areas in the Philipppines where typhoon Ondoy or Ketsana and typhoon Pepeng or Parma caused long damage to the lives of many people. On the other hand, the effects of a tsunami is also great because its abrupt and quick attack could throw a whole village in the ocean just like what happened in American Samoa. The earthquakes that happened in Peru, Japan, and other places caused trauma for so many people. And with all these thoughts, what we need is calamity preparedness. One thing, we should also learn to donate to the victims the things that they needed because we are so blessed that we were spared from the said calamities.
