The Good, The Bad, and The TOUGH LOVE.

I recently just spent some time with my Eight year old sister who has gone through many phases in her crazy life.  I love spending time with her because she makes me feel like I am the most important person in the entire world and if I don’t hang out with her then she is really upset.  I love her so much! Growing up has been hard for her and my four year old brother, but as kids they manage pretty well.

My sister loves boy clothes and Hates girl clothes she has been in this “phase” since my little brother was born.  Sometimes she loves wearing dresses, but for the most part boy clothes to her are easier to play in and easier to get dirty in.  She also loves swimming so she prefers her swim trunks (yes, boy swim trunks) over her dirty torn jeans any day.

Now we all know that there will be that day where she will (hopefully prefer) her dress shoes over her tennies, but not even I can say that day has really come for me up until recently and I am 22.  I just started feeling the urge to want to wear a dress and look pretty, but I also prefer my ripped jeans over the sundress any day .. unless it’s hott then I don’t have an excuse for those ripped jeans.

My brother has his phases too.  He loves playing with dolls, although my mother says it’s only because he wants to take the clothes off I think he is exploring his girly side too.  (ha ha) Thank goodness he doesn’t want to wear dresses.  His dressing phase is wearing the same set of clothes everyday.  He calls this set of clothes his “black clothes” they are black with red stripes on them and he doesn’t like to take them off.  He swims in them, he plays in the dirt in them, he wears them to bed, and he rolls out of bed (like a typical male) five min before pre-school throws on his shoes and says he is ready.

Funny how these characteristics start at such a young age.  I can remember when I myself used to make mudpies for the neighborhood boys to eat as a joke.  Now, when I have a boyfriend (I did say when…) I love to cook for him and I even start cooking more for myself.  Growing up is hard to do, but everything we will ever be starts out when we are young and then carried out to the rest of our adult lives.  Amazing to think about isn’t it?…

Any feedback.. ?? What did you do when you were little that drove your parents crazy or your siblings.  Do you wear any funny things or do any funny things? Send your pictures to my in-box @ imlivinmyownlife@aim.comand please make sure you put a subject for your message (: I’ll post the pictures in another blog (:
