A story about kids surviving the heat waves.

On a regular day in a typical suburban community, three kids are awaking from a previous night sleepover. They awake and want to go bike around and hang with their friends. They eat a breakfast of cereal and orange juice. They drop their spoons and run out the door. All three stop instantly and drop to their knees. The humidity makes the air feel like a thick liquid that they must swim through. The sun beats down on them like a hammer to a nail. They crawl to the umbrella on the deck. The shade shields them from the harsh rays of the sun, but the humid air is still clutching their throats. The run back inside into the cool air conditioned house. They exchange glances. Then they each yell at the same time, THE BEACH! They each get a pair of swim trunks and sunglasses. They walk towards their bikes and head out towards the beach. They arrive a while later and go swimming beating the heat.
