I mourn for the death of an inner comic.
When I was younger, reading my lectures proved to be my greatest sleeping pill. In fact, I need only to crack my school books open and I would be asleep in a matter of minutes. Fortunately, my dad has great taste in women and married my mom.
My mom is what most of my schoolmates would call, PROMIL KID. She has a photographic memory and an IQ of a near genius. In fact when she ranked in the 99th percentile when she took her post graduate course in Medicine eon of years ago. Though I have no call to that kind of brilliance, I acquit myself quite fairly in the academic area without much effort except for Math subjects.
My laid back attitude, can be surmised in my earlier articles. I write nonsense and goofy articles. The kind of articles that gets buried by Google algorithm but would add years to your life.
In fact two months ago when I first started I was asked by a member of The Filipino Diaspora, EK Encarnacion (if I am not mistaken), about my blog URL- www.myonethirdbrain@blogspot.com. The answer is simple, at times I have lived like only a third of brain is functioning, though in reality only 10% of our brains are really working. The rest of the neurons just die.
See, ever since I started submitting my works in Factoidz my writing style has changed drastically. From being merely plebeian, I have taken an academic route. Just yesterday, I tried drafting new articles for Triond and it just fell flat. I did not know writing light articles can be that exhausting. I scrapped everything out, its for a funeral not for laughs. Gone were the days, that I scribbled an article in 10 minutes without thought process.
Factoidz, had made me aware of the concept of writing for other people and search engines. It had matured my writing style a bit. I write for the joy of writing. I write unwired brainless thoughts. At least, I used to.
I am now getting organic views, and this might be a great news to most. However, it made me mourn my comic wigged self.
Macherie,
