Short story with a lot of lesson to learn.
It was Sunday morning in the small town in Mindoro. Everyone are busy on their Sundays activity. Faye woke up early and then pray before she get up on bed. She have a place where she usually kneel down to pray.
“Lord thank you for the wonderful day and another day you’ve given me today” she prayed.
After that she prepared herself in going to the church for Sunday’s mass. She was quick in doing that because she want to attend the first mass in the morning. On the way going to church she meet a lot of people who are also going to hear His wonderful message for that day.
Suddenly someone capture her attention while walking. A granny holding her walking stick. The church is across the street though the cars run slow because theres a pedestrian lane. She only have 5 minutes to go the church and attend the first mass so she walk in a hurry. She was also thinking of the granny she seen on the road. A lot of things came on her mind so she went back
“Granny are you going to church”? she asked. “Yes, I want to attend the first mass but I think I might be late”, Granny aswered. “Oh really, I am also going there would you like me to help you so you can get across the street safe and faster”, Faye replied.
They both walk across the street going to the place where He was waiting for them. There’s a lot of people inside the church so seats are limited already. She found one at the back row. Instead of sitting there and get relax while on mass she gave the slot to Granny.
“There’s one slot there at the back it’s better if you will be the one to sit there so you can relax, Granny. I will be standing here at your back” she said. Granny smiled at her and said, “Thank you, Godbless you”.
They both attended the first mass. Faye listened to the priest attentively. The priest read the gospel of the day and he also gave a short story. Faye realized that the lesson of the day was “Giving, Helping others and love.
She went home with a big smile on her face.
