Highway with no Road.
A tour bus company on the speedway to an endless off ramp, and with a bend to nowhere. This is the tail of Whereabout Tours, a motor coach tour operator offering one day, multi-day and weekend tours. There is also some splendor of European and cruise ship excursions. The flavor of the miss, and to all who got dissed.
It all started on the New York Thurway enroute from Albany, New York. The bus was cruising at 70 miles per hour, but the speed limit was 65 miles per hour. As it stands, the trigger of component leading to disaster. The passengers were conversating with one another, when all of an sudden, like a ride at an amusement park, the bus turned on its side out of control. Flames began to burst into the becking skies and smoke into the high rise. Traffic was backed up as far as Buffalo, New York. The nearest town of firefighters had been called, and the New York Thruway Patrol had been summoned from all corners of every county. Every attempt was made to rescue the passengers, but some they were able, while others were beyond the reflection, and a black curtain on others. Many of the surviving passengers were wondering what went wrong, and was the driver alert in his driving. These were all good questions, and a thorough investigation was under way.
National Transportation Safety Board was on the scene in analyzing the bus mechanics, interviewing the passengers and testing the driver who was conscious. One of the passengers, Joann Meyers stated she noticed the drivers knotting off at intervals, and said her body and thoughts went on caution. Then without warning, the bus was on its side. Many more interviews were conducted in the possible cause. Some of the passengers were giving their accord of what they saw and heard. No goodyear tire trail, but plenty of lawsuits that will sail.
As details went into the reels of news broadcasters communicating into the ordeal were televised as a main cause. It was determined that the driver, Jason Wuh of Brooklyn, New York was speeding and accelerated too fast along with being exhausted from working more than 10 hours on the road. This is going against the American Bus Association and the Transportation Safety Board guidelines.
Whereabout Tours had shutdown. However, in 2011, they made their mark back in business. Unfortunately, they took their markings and logo off the bus, and all was left was nothing more than the bus own sealing’s of its own structure. From that point, it was not only a charter operation and not the all out tour operation it was known for. However, tours were made into the charter entity.
A striving business with a condition of consequence, and where does the bus company function in its stance? The world hopes and waits. Also wondering what will it take? The endless road with no control, and a detour beyond the moments notice. Nowhere bound, a never ending saga of wandering around.
