The boys were overjoyed. They agreed that honesty is the best policy?
James, John and Edward were classmate. One day, after school, the stopped at a stall for a drink. While having their drink, Edward spotted a wallet under the table.
He picked it up and opened it. Inside was a thousand dolar packed neatly in hundred dolar bills! The three boys gazed at the notes a awe. Never had they ever come across such treasure in their lives! Imagine getting a thousand dolar without having to work for it. They took turns to feel the notes to convince themselves that it was really happening to them.

Then, many thoughts filled their minds: good, bad and selfish. What were they to do with the money?
“Let’s keep it,” James suggested.
“We cannot do that,”John and Edward protested. “It would be dishonest.” They noticed, too, that the ower’s identity card and address were in the wallet.
After some deliberation, they decided to return the wallet to its rightful owner. So off they went on their bicycles. They enquired from a few people as to the whereabouts ot the house without revealing why they wanted to get there.
Finally they got there. The owner, Mr Goon, was at home. They handed the wallet to him. He was so delighted. Mrs. Goon asked them to stay for tea and they were treated to a whole spread of cookies. ” Wow, what a treat!” they tought.
When they left the house, they did not leave empty-handed. In appreciation of their honesty, Mr. Goon gave each of them fifty dolar. Mrs Goon, on her part, told them that they could drop in any time they wanted.
The boys were overjoyed. They agreed that honesty is the best policy.
