A fictional story of how the crabs gained their claw and why they walk sideways.
Long time ago, crabs walked straight and had five fingers like us.
Crabs have always been very curious and would sneak and look into every nooks and crannies.

Often they would catch fishes in compromising positions or situations. Sometimes they would expose fishes hiding from their predators.
The creatures and fishes were very angry and couldn’t stand this constant invasion of their privacy and safety. They got together and came out with a plan.
They built an elaborate coral with seaweed all around. After the construction, signs were placed around it warning all to keep clear.
The crab disregarded the signs and approached the coral. It pushed aside the seaweed and proceeded to snoop around. Suddenly, it felt some sticky substance on its hands causing four of its fingers to stick together.
The crab screamed in fear and pain. A crowd gathered and tried to help but it was too late.
The hands looked like claws. So the fishes laughed when at the crab.
The crab suspected that the coral was a planned attack on it and became very paranoid. That’s the reason the crabs now walk sideways – always on the lookout for sneak attacks.
