Seeking for justice.

NO i’m not pointing fingers.

Have you ever wondered why you didn’t pass the HR interviewer even if you have done your best? It’s putting applicants into so much depression that’s been causing them to blame themselves. But it has been a part of the working world, and sometimes, it could really lower ones self esteem. I’m sorry but I also have to blame this problem to the HR department, who’s been very picky on who they are going to hire.

What are the most common reasons why HR rejects you?

1. They don’t like you personally.

Seriously. What happened to the rule ’set aside your personal issues/problems while working’? I bet interviewers aren’t playing a good part on their role huh. No matter how interesting you are or how many work experiences you had THEY JUST DON’T LIKE YOU. I hate powertripping!

2. You stutter a lot

Well, it’s self explanatory. They don’t like it when you don’t know what you’re talking about. But being nervous is normal. I suggest you remain calm and have a chat with yourself before the interview. Then imagine that you’re just talking to a friend, and not to a snobby HR.

3. They don’t like your physical appearance.

Yeah you can’t have it all, can you? Life is so unfair when it comes to that. Only a few HRs really seek for what you can do and not what you look like. Therefore, you can only show them your confidence and eagerness to work with them.

4. They are intimidated by you

There are two ways to view this situation. One, you should find a job that’s really right for your level, and two, be flattered because you have a long way to go, kid. But I’ll say that it’s not your fault that your awesomeness has been smashing their faces.

5. They think you don’t have the knowledge required for the position.

When they say that, it’s really infuriating. What’s the use of training when they’re just going to teach it to people who’s already knowledgeable enough about it?? Sorry but I really find it stupid.

I have read a book about this HR who didn’t care on how beautiful the resume of her applicant was, if he even finished college or how little the applicant knows about advertising. What she cares about is the applicant’s attitude and excitement about the job. She believes she can teach everything that a newbie has to know, but she can never teach them the excitement that one feels about it. I hope the world have HRs like that.

But whatever rejection and failure happens, don’t give up. There are always good things to come for those  who wait. Don’t try to please everybody, just be yourself. My friend once told me, if you can impress yourself first, that’s the time you can impress other people. Happy Job Hunting!
