The truth behind the story of Humpty Dumpty.
As we know it,
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a “great” fall. All the King’s horses and all the King’s men, couldn’t put Humpty together again – The End…
But my friend, surely, is it the end? For this story has not begun to begin. You see Humpty Dumpty is a friend that I know, and that’s not the story, to me, that he told.
He said: “There I was, just out on the ledge, and Satan behind me, pushed me off the edge!” ” I knew he was there, he didn’t think I saw.” “He struggled as he pushed me, and I let go after all”
“Why did you?” i asked Him, “why were you even there?” he said he didn’t think that anyone would care. His job had let him go, and all bills were due. His whole life was crumbling, what more could he do?
He was just gonna do it, he had just lost it all as he walked toward the ledge to let himself fall. “Do it!” said Satan, “You know you want to and if you do it for me, then I’ll take care of you!”
“Ok” said humpty Dumpty, ” I won’t change my mind, there’s nothing to live for, I’m all out of time.” Then out in the distance, there was a great glow. The clouds clapped and rumbled, then Mercy said “NO”
” I WON’T LET YOU FALL, I WON’T LET YOU GO BECAUSE I HAVE A PLAN AND BECAUSE I SAY SO” Then Humpty said “but God I have nothing left to my name, my heart’s sad and broken, and I am ashamed.”
then God said to Humpty: “YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED, YOU’VE FORGOTTEN WHO I AM, YOU’VE FORGOTTEN MY NAME!” “PUT NOT YOUR TRUST IN HORSES, OR CHARIOTS, OR MEN, FOR I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS POWER TO MEND”
Humpty cried to the Heavens: “I must have lost my mind!” “Forgive me my God, Forgive me!” he cried. “some trust in Chariots and some trust in men, but I will put all my trust in God again!”
“Liar!” said Satan, “I won’t hear anymore!” “Just jump Humpty Dumpty, what are you waiting for?” Satan watched Humpty Dumpty as his hands were raised. Humpty was standing there, giving God praise.
This made Satan mad. “I won’t change my mind!” He mocked Humpty Dumpty as he snuck up behind. Humpty knew he was there, Satan didn’t think he saw. Satan Struggled to push him, but he fell after all.
So there lies Humpty Dumpty, broken like a fraction. Above him stood Satan with a smile of satisfaction. And here comes the horses, the chariots and men, to try and put Humpty together again.
They tried and they failed. They argued and grumbled. “Quiet!” said a king’s man, ” I think Humpty mumbled”
and surely he did, everyone was amazed. Though Humpty was broken, he still gave God praise! “Hallelujah” he whispered “I am truly blessed, I’ll continue to praise you, even though I’m a mess!”
And then something happened, a great wind was released, putting Humpty together one piece after piece. ” Thank you Jesus!” he shouted. ” Hallelujah, Amen” and Humpty was back together again!
And that’s the real story and if truth be told, this has happened to many. Humpty isn’t alone. We all fall short and lose our heads and sometime, if too close, get pushed off the edge.
But we must Remember if we fall to the end, God is always there to pick us up and Put us back together again…
