A story of a friend who watched it all slip away.
I seems like yesterday
I remember when he first moved down here from Virginia. A cool cat with a little southern accent we were boys, best friends, like peas in a pod. I Introduced him to Pennsylvania city life but I was never one for the petty stuff that brings people down, he watched it and admired it and thats when I started watching.
I watched your Mother tell you wouldnt be anything
I watched the lack of support whenever we would sing
I watched you listen to, the dealer on the street
I watched as kids citicized, the shoes on your feet
I watched you have a child, at a very young age
I watched as child support got you locked in a cage
I watched your woman, go cheat behind your back
I watched you blame society, for cutting you no slack
I watched you use drugs to take away the Pain
I watched as lifes pressures, drove you insane
I watched YOU, and when I offered you help
I watched you seek guidance from somebody else
I decide not to watch you
Because it hurts to watch you choose
I watched as he was influenced
And convinced that he would loose.
I watched
