This is the introduction of a story I’m writing. Hope you like it. Any suggestions you have are very welcome.
Gods. Beings with power beyond our wildest dreams. Contrary to popular belief the gods have a life span very similar to any other mortal, most of them die without even knowing they had such power. Some of them discover they have certain abilities and they begin to develop them, others just realize they have powers but they hide them to avoid drawing atention.
Immortals. They keep watch over the gods. They are nicknamed “Immortals” but they are the god’s babysitters or guides. They where normal mortals but because some extraordinary reason in the moment they died they where granted the curse of immortality. They don’t age and are hard to kill but overall they are very similar to any mortal.
When a god discovers it’s powers an immortal has the obligation to guide him in order to control it’s power or, in case it becomes dangerous for the mortals or other gods, the immortal has the obligation of stopping it. The same happens when an immortal threatens the relative peace they have.
– Why do you shut out the rest of the world?
– What?
– Yes. Why won’t you speal with me?
– I do speak with you, I just don’t know what to say.
– You are afraid of something. I think you’re afraid to start a relationship.
– I’m bad with relationships.
– I think something’s wrong with you.
– Nothing’s wrong with me, I just find it hard to talk to people.
– Mmmm… I think someone hurt you before.
– …
– I’m right. That’s too bad.
– …
– Do you want to talk about it?
– No.
– I think that if you talk about it you could feel better.
– I don’t think it works.
– Try me.
– …
– Please.
– I’m not sure about this.
– Who hurt you?
He wasn’t sure if he should talk about that with her. At least he felt more relaxed when he was with her but at the same time it was very unsettling. It was not so long ago that they have met in school. He always attended to class just to get over them quickly. But that day was very different.
