Briton Anthony Smith (85) has decided to a very dangerous venture to point out the problem of drinking water in the world, and he looked for his crew through newspaper advertisements.

After 66 days on the waves, 85-year-old Anthony Smith from London crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Even 4596 miles traveled, neither more nor less, than on the raft. On an unusual and not at all harmless venture he decided because he wanted to point out the fact that one billion people in the world live without drinking water.

While he was still a boy he dreamt about sailing on the ocean and he realized his dream two months ago when he went on the a trip with his three friends.

The mission began in the Canary Islands from where they started, and they finished their journey on the Caribbeans.

Four-member crew’s goal is to raise money for Water-Aid British nonprofit organization that provides drinking water for poor communities. They hope to collect 50,000 pounds.

Vital old man before he went on the journey he published an advertisement in the British Telegraph, through which he looked for companions. “Luxury drifting across the Atlantic? famous traveler looking for three crew members. They must be retired. Serious adventurers only” said the ad over which he has chosen the three men, aged between 56 and 61 years.

The first idea was to end up on the the Bahamas, but due to the winds, which did not allow a normal voyage last station they were still none the less exotic Caribbean.
