Waiting for a ride.
Interview with a Pathogen
Hi, my name is Pathogen first name blood. My family is known all over the world. We are famous for carrying disease.
Today I am just laying around on this bus stop; I was flung over here last night from a traffic accident. I don’t need any fare; I’ll just wait for some nice person to carry me aboard and maybe on home with them. I have some nice gifts in my pocket to exchange for the transport lets see; I have some H1N1 and some meningitis and a few more crumbs of death to offer. I hope some one comes soon before I dry up.
My cousin Mucus was here a little while ago, she only had HIV in her pocket but she got lucky and caught a ride with a skateboarder that stop here to rest for a few.
You know, I almost bought the farm a couple of times this morning. One lady sprayed this bus stop with antiseptic before she sat down. It got me pretty good but, I had my head down in one of the cracks and was able to recover nicely. Then an old lady spread newspaper all over me and just about wiped me out, and on top of that I could not get through that newspaper to give her a bribe to take me home with her. What a bummer.
Oh, here comes a bus, probably will have several people sitting here waiting to transfer to another bus. So I will probably be leaving now. Hope we meet again soon you look so invitingly healthy.
