A story about a boy that was invisible for a day.
Invisible for a day.
I woke up one morning and went to brush my hair. When I looked in the mirror I could only see my PJs. I was invisible! When I went to get dressed, and I touched my shirt, it became invisible, too. I figured out that getting dressed was going to be tricky because I could not see nor my body nor my clothes. Then I went in to my sister’s room and tickled her. She fainted! Happily, I went down to have breakfast
I decided to school was going to be fun. While my sister and my mom were getting ready, I crept onto the car’s roof. My mom drove us to school with me on the roof. My mom was in such a hurry she didn’t even notice I wasn’t there. When I arrived at school wanted to test just how invisible I was.
To do so, I went into the middle school classrooms and changed all the books around, so that when the students would arrive, they would be surprised to find someone else’s book in their desk. Then the bell rang.
In homeroom, my teacher Mrs. Schaefer just thought that I was absent. We had music in first period, which I knew would be fun. Mr Mario told us to get our recorders out. When I took mine and when the girls saw a flying recorder they all fainted. I always dreamed about cutting a girl’s long hair so I went up to my enemy, Charlotte, and cut her hair. When the students came to after fainting, Charlotte figured out she was bald. Mr Mario had us play a song and I blew one strident note. Mr Mario got really annoyed and slapped Lorenzo because he thought he had done it.
“Time for gym,” announced the teacher, so I skipped neatly in line between Henry and George. I screamed in George’s ear, and he thought it was Henry, then he went to tell and Henry got in trouble. By the time we arrived at gym, five minutes had passed. Mr. Barbeau told us that we would be playing baseball. I took five baseballs and threw them at the batter. In the end the batter had two black eyes and a nose bleed. After that, I took a baseball bat and the gym teacher fainted as the bat appeared to fly past his nose when I went up to bat. When Francesco took his turn, I grabbed his arms and batted for him. With our combined force, we made a homerun. That was the end of a fun gym class
After gym, I decided to go to the faculty room, a place where no child is allowed to enter. There I saw that a teacher had left her salad full of sauce. I picked it up and dumped it on Mr Barbeau’s pants. He thought that it was Mrs Schaefer, who was sitting next to him, who had done it. To get his revenge he went and put her lunch in the bin. Later, I saw Mrs. Schaefer sitting at a computer doing our grades. I imitated another teacher’s voice, so she walked away from the computer. During that time, I changed all my grades to A’s.
Suddenly I began to feel very strange. I ran up to the bathroom and felt stomach-aches and my whole body shook. I remembered how descriptive the book Hatchet was when the pilot was having a heart attack. I thought I was having one. Then I looked in the mirror, and I could see my head. I realised that I was losing my “invisibleness”, so I stayed in the bathroom until I was completely visible again. I went into my mom’s classroom because it was 3:15 and the end of a great day. I unfortunately never became invisible again.
