This is where the key phrase comes in, The grass always look greener on the other side…until you get there!
It Always Looks Better From The Other Side
This is where the phase “the grass is always greener on the other side”. Those who live in the city wish they lived in the country and vis a versa. We all think that the other side of the state, country, or island is better; until we get there then we fall into a routine. Its then we realize it the same ole thing, except the scenery is different. Occasionally you can get far enough from “home” where people may talk and dress funny, whether it is because of tradition or location.
So a young boys look to the mountain from his apartment building window, and dreams about, fishing in a lake, swimming in a pond, and having the ability to run free in the valley. His cousin James and Uncle John live in the mountains and they talk about hunting in the winter, or ice fishing. Then tell him how, when they come in Auntie Mae has a nice fire going in the fireplace to warm their bones and hang their wet icy clothes by; when they comes in from playing in the snow. James tells him about swimming in the pond and catching fresh fish with his dad. When he mentions school, there are only a handful of students his age, and as they learn their own material, they go on to help the students younger than themselves. They are all friends, and after school they play, baseball or football. It is really safe out there, but of course they stay together, and have fun all afternoon. It peaceful and quite too!
As the phone rings, it interpret his thoughts, it’s his mom, Hi Larry it mom, you got home from school ok? Yes mom replies Larry. Then his mom goes on to tell him that her sister; Auntie Mae called and invited him up for a week during the spring break. He starts thinking, “wow this is so cool”, as his mom, asks him if he would like to go? Yes, yes he tells his mom, I would really like to go; beside he tells his mom I have not seen them since dad left for Seattle. His dad was a popular news reporter and his was covering some major event there.
