Beatrice in the end of the seventies starts to study a third language in secondary school which is Spanish. Her first Spanish teacher was from Andalucia in Spain. Andalucia is in the South of Spain where used to be an important population from Arabic countries which left houses with flat roofs and mosaics that are used in the bathrooms. The most important aspect of studying is the information you get from your teacher who tells you what to avoid in order to succeed. That is when Beatrice knew that gender is important. So, Beatrice found her first summer job at sixteen years old with an American Agency and later worked for an international agency in a Portuguese speaking country where of course Spanish is like the administrative language. Teenagers like Beatrice should be able to chose the language they are more confortable in. In this case for Beatrice her teacher informed her that Spanish is like Kirundi her native language and that she can succeed by paying attention to the fact that she is a female and the world is not kind for women who study and work hard.
