Jack remembered the kudzu beans he had in his pocket.  They would not be much of a present compared to the other three.  So Jack walked to the other side of the house and through the beans against the cottage wall which was right next to the back door.

          Jack walked to the front door and knocked on it.  When Jack’s mother opened the door Jack was surprised at how bad his mother looked.

          She was like that probably because her son had been gone when he was supposed to be back the day before and that and her house was about to be taken away from her.

          The instant she saw him she burst into tears.  “Ma, I have got the money to buy the house with money left over.  We will live our lives in luxury!” Jack said happily. 

          They both walked inside.  Jack showed her the gold, the golden eggs, the swan who laid golden eggs, and the golden harp.  Just then there was a knock at the door.  Jack opened it and the landlord stepped into the cottage.

          “Do you have the money?” the landlord.  “Before I answer that question, how much will you sell the house for?” asked Jack.  “One hundred pounds” the man snickered.

          Jack handed the bag of coins to him.  He had counted them carefully when he had gotten home.  The landlord’s eyes widened.  He opened the door and left.

          Jack tried to tell her the story, but she would not believe him.  They went to bed in there cottage without the worry of not having enough money again.  The next day Jack saw the giant kudzu vine that climbed up through the clouds.  Jack took out his axe and chopped it down.  Then he told his mother the story that are in all the story books today.
