Kids book about a golden lab with a quirky personality who lives his life to the fullest with his friends.
You see this is a story of a Golden Retriever named Jack, and his friends, and the dreams they shared, and the journeys they had together. This story starts at about the time Jack is still one year old. Jack isn’t a little puppy anymore, but although he has grown much larger, he is still immature and learning. At this point in Jack’s life he had been with his human family for sometime, but never took the time to learn. He was just having too much fun being a puppy and the center of attention. Soon all that would come to an end.
Jack was just a typical house pet who had been raised in a human family with a mother, father, 2 girls, a boy, and a grandpa and grandma. Jack was the largest of the pets in the family, and you would think the leader of the pet family, but alas, No, the leader of the pet family was Elle. Elle was a short legged, rotund, female black Labrador and Husky mix. She was very smart, and very short on patience. You see Elle had her own family but all her puppies were either sold or given away, and she was very sad until one day her owners brought home a little, tiny, golden puppy named Jack.
As the leader of the pet family Elle was always depended on by the humans to teach the new members of the animal family. No one really asked her to, she just knew it was her job, and went about training the new family members as if they were her own children. Well, Jack was a quick learner. Jack followed Elle’s every lead, and listened to what she told him. At the time Elle was much larger than Jack, but Jack didn’t take long to catch up with Elle, growing very fast. Soon Jack was larger than Elle, but he was still a large, clumsy puppy. However, Elle could see in Jack something special. At first she thought it was the golden sheen to his wavy hair that covered his body. But soon she was to realize that Jack was just a special animal.
The two became best of friends, Elle and Jack. Elle would teach Jack how to eat, how to go outside to the bathroom, when to bark, when not to bark, all the basic pet stuff. And when Elle was through preaching the gospel of pet Dom to Jack, he would try to tell her about his dreams. Elle was not one to think much about dreams, after all she was raised on the streets. Elle would tell Jack how tough life really is, and how lucky he was to be a human’s pet.
